Desert / Ocean / Movement
Set between desert terrain and the Sea of Cortez, Grand Hyatt Los Cabos embraces the site’s dramatic topography and expansive ocean views to create a resort landscape deeply connected to its natural surroundings. Guest rooms are arranged along a winding promenade that gradually descends toward the beach, transforming movement through the property into a carefully choreographed journey of discovery, pause, and arrival.
At the center of the resort, a vibrant courtyard becomes the social heart of the landscape. Pools, gardens, bars, and restaurants are layered together to support moments of relaxation, gathering, entertainment, and quiet retreat. The hardscape design introduces a sculptural language of undulating concrete and exposed aggregates, echoing the shifting dunes and the continuous dialogue between water, sand, and wind.
The planting palette celebrates the resilience and beauty of Cabo’s native landscape. Desert vegetation, organic stone, textured paving, and warm earth-toned materials work together to create a grounded sense of place. Rather than imposing a resort identity onto the site, the design draws from the land itself, shaping an experience that feels immersive, tactile, and distinctly rooted in the coastal desert of Los Cabos.
